Egypt is well known for its giant pyramids, iconic cities, the River Nile and its miles upon miles of beaches on the Red Sea coast.
Historically the Greeks and Romans started holidaying here back in the 4th Century BC but today tourists are attracted by one of two camps - the historical and cultural side or the weather and beaches.
There are three main resorts in Egypt - Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Marsa Alam. Visitors here like to enjoy the clear waters of the Red Sea on beaches with white sand and to partake in the watersports including some of the worlds best scuba diving sites.
Its not just about the beaches or the cultural aspect though. The resorts all offer excellent nightlife including cocktail bars, nightclubs and even karaoke if that's your thing.
There are also trips available including camel rides in the desert dunes, kayaking on the Nile and trekking the Sinai Trail.
