The Hemingways Watamu Resort is situated right on the beach within the protected Watamu Maine National Park. Recently re-opened after a multi-million pound refurbishment, it is an elegant hotel with historical charm.
Part of the refurbishment was to create new room types and each of the rooms has views of the Indian Ocean. Choose from Ocean View, Deluxe Ocean View, one or two bedroomed Ocean View apartments, two bedroomed Deluxe Ocean View apartment and a 4 bedroomed Ocean View Penthouse Apartment. These include deep sea fishing, whale watching, dolphin watching, sunset cruise, PADI diving certification. The hotel is also backed by the Mida Creek Mangrove Forest which is rich in birdlife.
If you don't feel that active then enjoy the spa at the hotel. For food and beverages, the Hemingways Bar has been at the very centre of the hotel since its opening 30 years ago and you will certainly receive a warm welcome. The restaurant is a brasserie style which focusses on local produce and boat fresh seafood. |
