Hua Hin
The original beach resort of Thailand, where the Kings of Thailand built summer palaces, Hua Hin is a great mixture of city and sea with markets, golf courses and of course the Thai beaches.
Not far from Bangkok, Hua Hin is one of the top tourist destinations in Thailand. It has a long stretch of beach of fine white sand which lasts along the entirety of the city's waterfront. Luxury hotels sit on this beachfront and the gorgeous crystal clear sea its very popular with visitors for watersports.
Get a great view of the city from Khao Takiab a hill which is also home to many beautiful Buddhist temples. If you want a great view closer to town, visit Khao Hin Lek Fai. See Klai Kangwon Palace, one of those built by the Thai kings in 1929, it is a Spanish style summer palace that is still sometimes used by the Thai Royal Family.
