MALDIVES
The Maldives has long been one of the most popular long haul destinations. With a hint of exotic about this country made up of islands, clear turquoise waters lapping against white sand beaches and palm trees gently blowing in the breeze above your sun lounger, it truly can claim to be the ultimate beach holiday.
It's not just about laying on the beach and dipping your toes into the warm waters however as there is plenty of activities which you can do as well. Diving and snorkelling obviously rank highly on the activity list as the Maldives is one of the best dive destinations in the world. At certain times of the year Manta Ray's and Whale Sharks are visible and if your chosen island has a house reef, then you can expect to see a huge variety of marine life. There are other things to do as well such as sunset cruises, a picnic on a desert island or visits to a local island to see how the Maldivian people live.
The Maldives is definitely a location where you would choose to go all inclusive. As most islands are on their own, generally you will eat at the hotel you are staying in. If you do like a choice, see Crossroads at Maldives, where there is up to 14 restuarants to choose from.
