The Gambia Temperature & Rainfall
THE GAMBIA
Look on a map for The Gambia and quite often you would miss it. Only 31 miles wide it's not the biggest of countries but it surely makes up for this with its friendly atmosphere. Located on the west coast of Africa, south from the Canary Islands, its nickname is the Smiling Coast of Africa.
The main draw here is the coastline, the majority of which is crowd free. Kotu and Kolioli are the stand out attractions here, where you can also experience craft markets and strips of bars and restaurants.
Its not all about the beaches however, with the river (of the same name) full of manatees, hippos and crocodiles, monkeys and birdlife. There are also more than 100 chimpanzees on the islands of the River Gambia National Park - you cant step foot on the islands but you can partake in an organised boat tour where you can see them.
